Faith and the Bible

In a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, an organization which follows and reports on religious and other cultural trends, it was reported that more than 78% of mainline Protestants believe that humans have evolved over time. What’s more puzzling about this report is that a significant number of those who hold this belief also believe that a supreme being guided this evolutionary process. In plain language, this means that more than ¾ of people who call themselves Christians do not believe in the Bible record of creation. Not believing in the Biblical creation leads to gross

A Solemn Warning

Romanism is now regarded by Protestants with far greater favor than in former years. In those countries where Catholicism is not in the ascendancy, and the papists are taking a conciliatory course in order to gain influence, there is an increasing indifference concerning the doctrines that separate the reformed churches from the papal hierarchy; the opinion is gaining ground that, after all, we do not differ so widely upon vital points as has been supposed, and that a little concession on our part will bring us into a better understanding with Rome. Law and Grace…What Does God Say About It

The word ‘Law’ denotes a legal concept.  It is a concept which suggests that someone, in a superior position, puts forth certain rules and regulations, which another, in an inferior position, is bound to follow. If those rules and regulations are violated, then the law provides for certain consequences or punishments. Law is a universal concept. It is the foundation of all human endeavors. All of our affairs in this life are conducted on the basis of law. In our homes there are laws.  There are rules established by our local governments. Then there are state laws.

The Desire of All Ages

The prophet Isaiah declares, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him” (Isaiah 43:7). Man was originally endowed with noble powers and a well-balanced mind. He was perfect in his being, and in harmony with God. His thoughts were pure, his aims holy. But through disobedience, his powers were perverted, and selfishness took the place of love. His nature became so weakened through transgression that it was impossible for him, in his own strength, to resist the power of

The Rest of the Story

Stories are powerful building blocks for nation development. They are critical catalysts for societal changes and potent instruments for character transformation. Take, for example, the greatest story ever told. The story of Jesus Christ’s virgin birth, His sinless life, His sacrificial death on Calvary’s cross, His bodily resurrection and His soon coming has served not only to build a great nation (Christianity); but it has impacted societies around the world like none other has. His story has transformed more characters than any legal concept or political device ever will. Jesus, recognizing the power of a good story

Why He came

Perhaps  the most quoted and well-known Scripture in the Bible is John 3:16-17. It reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life…For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved” But saved from what? The apostle Paul answers assuredly, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord” (Romans 6:23). When God created man, His
