Is America Ready for another black president?

…one that is a Seventh-day Adventist? Ever since his ferocious attack on President Obama’s policies at the National Prayer breakfast at the Washington Hilton in Washington DC, on February 7, 2013, Pediatric Neurosurgeon, Dr. Benjamin Carson, has been growing in popularity and has become the darling favorite of the  Republican party as their presidential candidate for 2016. But who really is Dr. Benjamin Carson? He shares his story in his first book, an autobiographical masterpiece, entitled, Gifted Hands. In it he

Grace that Transforms…Power to Obey

youtubeembedcode en add -link -exchange         It was in the midst of a twelve year plus crack cocaine habit that an associate of mine remarked to me, “you don’t need money…you need Jesus” Upon hearing those words, I thought it was the most unkind and terrible thing Captain Medas could have said to me. I came to him broke and homeless and expected that he would have some sympathy on me and loan me some money. It hadn’t been very long ago that I was evicted from my modest one bedroom apartment and had my

From Sabbath to Sunday

We are all involved in a great controversy. It is a battle that began in heaven and is raging on earth. John the Revelator tells us, “And there was war in heaven: Michael and His angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels…and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven, and the great dragon was cast out, and that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation12: 7-9). With the high visibility of discussions surrounding the attack's potentially catastrophic results, speculation on end-time prophesies focusing on tensions in the Middle East, is intensifying at an alarming rate. Many, however, completely miss the most poignant declaration of apocalyptic events recorded in Scripture. It is not about an attack on ISIS, Syria or any other conflict

Sabbath: The Wedding Ring of Rememberance

When we see a wedding ring on a young bride’s finger, we know that it is only a symbol of a covenant she made with her groom. We know that the covenant isn’t  just to wear matching rings, it goes much deeper. The covenant itself involves love, faithfulness and committment. We can compare the Sabbath we observe with the ring on the bride’s finger. The Sabbath is the primary sign that we walk in covenant with our Creator. ~ Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may

Beyond the Days…A Matter of Obedience

Perhaps the best known and most quoted passage of Scripture of the entire Bible is John 3:16-17.   It  reads: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life...For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved”. This passage is so simple, yet so profound, but grossly misunderstood. Most people, particularly Christians, misinterpret this passage to make it relate to people that came into the world after the birth of Jesus Christ.
